kiddie cobra

I want to buy my granddaughter an electric car but would like it to have a Cobra style body. I have look on the internet but can not find one. Does anyone have a suggestion of where I can get one.

Thanks

Cobra Go-karts, yep!

I got 'em, but they're gas powered.

Mr. Bruce can you

convert them to run on electric motor supplied by 12V battery.
I have 2 1/2 yr old grandson who might be interested.

Bruce,

Do you have any pictures of them that you can post? Are they complete(body, chassis, engine)?

You do not show a location in your profile but I ran into these guys from Fresno that offered the body (nice body, better than some full size I seen) for karts. Didn't ask if they did frames but looked like you could adapt anything to it.

These bad boys are miniature cobras, roughly 1/2 sized. They have a 5.5 hp Honda engine, torque converter, disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, independent front suspension. They might be a bit much for a 2-5 year old . They will fit in the back of a pickup, or a mini van. They will seat two kids or one "big kid"(parents/grandparents). Electric power is a possibilty, but the moter and switching gear is pretty expensive. Yes I have pics ,but I'm heading out on a road trip ,so pics will have to wait 'till next week. if any one is really interested give me an E-mail for my phone number , we'll talk details on the phone. thanks

I picked up a flyer 5-6 years ago at a SAAC meet for a 1/2 size Cobra, runs on a 5 hp Briggs. Very well done and detailed. Wasn't cheap, $2995 back than. Company was Component Craft, 10728-B South Pipeline Rd., Hurst Texas 76053. Don't know if they're still around, but may be worth a try if thats what you are looking for.

Did it look like this?

Al,

I saw this at SAAC 26 last year.

Pretty cool but I don't think I could fit in it.

Mr. Bruce,
Do you sell just the body? I would like to do a golf cart with a Cobra body. It is anywhere close to the size I'm looking for?

Bannon,

Do you know who makes the one you saw at SAAC 26?

Ross

Bannon 08-30-2002 06:58 PM

Ross,

Unfortunately no I don't. If I remember correctly I beliieve the gentleman I spoke with told me that he had bought if from the original owner and that he thought the company who made it had gone out of business. I'm pretty sure he said that the company who made it had been based in Texas which is why I though it my be the Component Craft company Al had mentioned above. I can tell you when I have kids they will be spoiled. I think it would be pretty cool to find one for the little tyke.

John

BTW thanks for sharing your thoughts about your SPF/460 experience.

I've been looking for a cobra body to put on a kart as well. Let me know if you sell just the bodies.

mr bruce 09-03-2002 07:44 PM

Sorry, don't sell bodys.

Dennis Mosley 09-03-2002 07:48 PM

What are the details on the complete deal?
