puke tank

Can anyone tell me the approximate deminsions of the replica 427 puke tanks. I'd like to put one in but I'm not sure if I've got the room.
Thanks, Steve D***ey

Of course it will fit, why wouldnt it?

Bob Putnam 01-01-2003 04:57 PM

Steve,

If you're talking about the brass repro tank (we sell a complete one), it will fit if the height matches the specs in the manual. Others can be shortened fairly easily. However, you must use a small (stock) diameter distributor - not the extra-large aftermarket ones.

Bob-
Does that mean that you can't use a MSD distributor?

Steve Dickey 01-01-2003 08:49 PM

Guys,
Thanks for all your replies. I don't think I was real clear with my request. I'm looking for the deminsions of the oil overflow tank. With the battery over the passenger footbox and dual carbs I'm not sure I have room.
Thanks again, Steve

Bob,
Thanks, I did get an expansion tank from you. It fit well and looks great!

Steve,

We make them and I am sure it should fit. We have placed them on many cars with dual carbs. The tank mounts on the firewall, offset to the right side of the car out of the way of the carbs. The tank is a cylinder about 4 inches in diameter and about 10 inches long.

Hi David -
Is your email working?

Chaplin -
To answer your question - I purchased a new expansion tank (water) for my car and it hit against the MSD distributor. I had to make a 1/4" spacer to the move the tank away from the engine so it would work.

David,

Do you have any information on the tank you used (do you sell them)?
