Upstate NY Cobra Club ----> Interested?
Here in the snowy, barren wasteland know as Upstate NY (aka any part of NY state North of NYC) we are starting to get a decent contingency of Cobras.
Over the past few years many of us in Upstate have done several informal gatherings. With the increasing number of cars here, I think it would be cool to get a little more "organized." In the past few years we have done the FFR open house, the Syracuse Nationals, DVSF, and a number of local car shows that all have been a good time. The basis for the club would be simple: put a yearly calendar of events together, raise some money for Team Jenny, and have a good time! I figure that organizing a club will also give us more of an excuse to get together on a regular basis! The club would be open to ALL cobra makes. So far we have interest from about 6 cars in the area. I expect that we will hear from about 15-20 initially. So how about it? Who would be intersted? Anyone here from Upstate, NY? Phil |
I'm definately interested. And as long a syou don't mind a member that doesn't have a cobra yet I'm there!!!!

Not a problem Ken! We have 15-20 people interested, and I'll be sending an email to everyone tonight with more details.
Regards, Phil |
Phil, I'm 50 miles south of Buffalo, a Superformance owner, and very interested. Any news or progress yet? Tony.

Tony,
My family, my SPF and I are moving to Buffalo (Hamburg, actually) from San Jose, California in December, so I was interested to see this thread. When I noticed the dates, I checked Phil's post history, and it looks like he hasn't made one since July, 2003. I then checked his post history on the Factory Five site and found he moved to New Hampshire in early 2004, so the plan for an Upstate Cobra Club may have gone with him. BTW, I was in the Buffalo area few weeks ago and saw a silver cobra with black stripes. That wasn't you by any chance, was it? Chuck |
I would be interested. Please send some info.

Did anyone notice Phil's original post for this thread was dated 2003? :D
His web site is at the following url http://www.upstatecobras.net/home/ \ Bill S. |
I didn't notice. Thanks for pointing this out. I have the Upstate Club as a favorite but there doesn't seem to be any activity on the site (they still note events from 2007). So, guess it is not anything active.

So why not join and start posting and re-activate it. Plenty of Cobra folks in upstate NY that are waiting for someone to take the reigns and get things active again. Maybe that person is you..... Sincerely, Bill S. |
