FFR Spoiler, does it work?
The front spoiler on the FFR Spec Racer looks pretty good. It's not too big or obtrusive. If painted a contrasting color (black) I think I could live with it. The big question is, does it work?
My Arntz nose starts lifting big time about 160. I don't have the guts to find out if the front wheels will lift off but I think they will because the car is still pulling hard in fourth gear at 4,500 RPM. Can anyone give a review of the spoiler's performance? Paul |
Paul:
Hate to burst your bubble, but unless you are running a 2.5 to 1 ratio, your speedo is way off. To run 145 @ 4,500 rpm with a four speed and a 26.8 inch tall tire , you would need a 2.46 gear. |
Well, at least SOMEBODY replyed!
You're right Jeff, I musta been in fifth gear. Try the calcs with 4,500 RPM, Hoosier 275/60/15 rears at 28.0 inches diameter, a 3.31 rear end and .68 overdrive. That's the ticket! So what about the spoiler? Paul |
Thats better, how about 166 mph. What kind of hp are you making?
|
Thank you jeff.. You saved me from getting out my calculator.. I bet he is pulling really hard at 4500.. but I suspect he is going closer to 90 at 1:1..
