Quick question...

If my trailer's clearance loading the Cobra into it is a bit low, will a 2" x 12" x 8' plank support it's weight and allow it to clear without scraping ?

I assume you are talking about getting your oil pan or bell housing over your ramp when you are loading your car.

If so there are a couple of things you can do.

1) Jack your trailer up higher in the front to reduce your loading angle.

2) Add an extension to your ramp. I used a piece of 3/4" exterior grade plywood 18" Wide by 8' long. I attached it to my loading ramp with a piano hindge and used four two by fours (2x4) about 15" long cut into a wedge to support the tires as they are rolling up on the ramp.

No problems holding the weight of the Cobra but it does make the ramp a little heavier to lift. When it warms up I will play with the tension on my spring that helps lift the ramp.

I hope this is what you are refering in your post. Good luck!

Clois
