E/M owners please help

Everett/Morrison owners please help, this is my last week to correct all odds and ends on my car before it gets paint, I want the car to mechanically complete before hand. I have that gas sending unit out and am trying to determine if I shoud continue to screw with it to get it to work or get a different sending unit. I have the custom aluminum tank and was told it was a Chevy sending unit, Its a real piece of $hit, the float moves around and gives all kinds of false readings, have ran out of gas three times now and its getting old, I have SW gages, I was thinking of going to the SW intellisensor which is solid state but they start at an 11" depth and my tank is only 9" deep, don't know what to do and EM Bob has deserted me. Can anyone help me tonight while I have everything tore apart.

I have the same car and the same tank. E/M supplied me with the sending unit along with the tank and it works perfectly. My suggestion would be to get in touch with Enzo at FinishLine as he has some E/M cars himself and has been helping out all of us screwed E/M owners. He may be able to give you some good advise. My forst thought was to get the SW unit and shorten the arm but it may throw off the calibration, I dunno. Maybe you could call them and ask if it would ?

hdheritage97 thanks for the reply, already talked to Enzo, he has the same tank and sending unit and also has no problems. He couldn't help me as far as which sending unit it was. Maybe I just got a bad unit. Shorting the solid state unit in my opinion would not work. I guess the best approach is to try to find out which unit EM sent with the car and try to get another.

Thanks again for the reply.
