"John Doe" Cobra question?
What make is the Cobra that is used in the "JOHN DOE" t.v. series?
|
I was watching it tonight and was going to ask the same question, does anybody know?
|
There was some discussion in the past....Do not remember if they came to a conclusion.

The general consensus seems to be that it is manufactured by CanAmMotorcars out of Canada. I think it may be filmed there.
I can't understand why they used the wheels they did. Tags it as a replica right off... It seems to be getting less airplay as the series moves on. I actually really like the show. See older thread on the subject. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...light=John+doe JB |
The funny thing is that in the episode this evening, the kid wanted to show his friends the "AC COBRA".
|
Bandit 1,
I remember that episode. I thought that was funny when I saw it as well. Wait Isn't it an AC Cobra??? My memory is a little fuzzy... JB |
Maybe its an "AmCan" instead of a "CanAm". Therefore calling it an "AC" for short!:3DSMILE:

Tonites episose was a rerun. Perhaps They are afraid of the DOT guys taking the car..
|

The cobra featured in the John Doe TV series belongs to a gentelman in Vancouver. He was approached by the producers looking for a cobra and he just happened to have one. The TV people repainted the car for the TV series. I only meet Allan briefly last summer and did not find out the manufacture of his car. He is a BC cobra club member, checkout more photos at thier site. www.bccobraclub.org

I found out from a very nice member of the "British Columbia Cobra Club" that the car is maufactured by Can Am Motorcars in Chilliwack BC. The car was owned by a Chinese gentleman and that is why it has the european look ... the 3 spoke wheels, momo steering wheel ... that sort of thing. I am still trying to find out information about the engine, transmission, etc...
I would like to thank Jay from the "British Columbia Cobra Club" for his information. Sincerely, Bandit 1 |
,,,and WHY did they have to paint it for the TV program? Like green was BETTER than whatever it was before?
Ernie |
Thanks for the pics. Cool Cobra. Those wheels are a bit different.

Your Welcome
Hey no problem for the pics. As for the repainting, I know Allan was not pleased with the lenght of time it took the paint shop to complete the repaint. Not really sure what color it was before they painted it? %/
