Evan: See, we DO have more in common than these cars! I played a little LB in HS also, along with TB (went bothways for 3 yrs until Sr. Year I only played Tailback. Actually, the LB I played we called "rover". It was more LB / FS.......I went where I thought the ball was going to go.
I'm a little younger than you, but I do remember the Titans. I went to school in Ohio (state champs 3 yrs) and other teams would ask if we would scrimmage them in pre-season. Traveled a lot (for HS) and played out of state quite often, but never played TC. My HS head coach left my Sr. year to coach Notra Dame and I ended up playing 1/2 the season in Cincinnati and the other 1/2 in Toledo because my father was transferred there. Earned a scholarship to OSU and played 2 years in "back-up" roles, and on special teams. Tried to convert me to a reciever but didn't get a lot of playing time (we had an All-american that was a ball hog!). Always had an upperclassmen bigger / better in my way! To make me feel better, I always tell people that at least the guys that beat me out had great careers in the NFL! My Jr. year was supposed to be my "coming out" year according to Coach, and in pre-season practice, a "kid" (I only call him kid because he was younger than me!) shattered my shin bone (leg whip while my foot was planted) while I was screwing aroung running back punts, and I never fully recovered. Took 6 years before I could run / jump "normally", and by then, it was too late. The "kid" was our 3-time all american MLB (who owns a Cobra by the way!) and went on to play in the NFL. I still roamed the sidelines my Jr and Sr years but never dressed in pads - just cheerleaded. All in all, I had a lot of fun and got to become friends with a number of great guys. Went to 4 different Bowls while I was there and went to a lot of post-game parties (only good thing about not playing was I could PARTY!). Sure, I wish things could have been "different", but it was a great experience and I have a lot of memories and a good friends to go with them. The good 'ol days!!!

About that beer.....sure, I'll buy the first round!

......and, who's Southernfried callin' sissies????? Maybe HE should buy the first round!
