..depending on whose pattern you use, its either a 2" or a 2.25" pitch

Edley Rondinone 02-06-2003 09:29 PM

I prefer the hood scoop molded into the hood, with no rivets showing. I cant wait to see the reponses to THIS post!!!

hey...that's OK. That's the way the original 289FIA cars were...looks very sleek.

I remember seeing a schematic on the ERA website that layed out the rivet pattern very nicely. I was actually thinking of adding the rivets to my glass bodied car as a detail touch but never got around to it.

I was tempted to post the diagram in this post but then it occurred to me that because I don't own the rights to it I might infringe on ERA rights so here is the url to the diagram:
http://www.erareplicas.com/427man/body/hood.htm I hope this helps.

ERA's pattern for the scoop takes into account an offset that is specific to the ERA cutout.

The hood rivet pattern they suggest ( 8-0-8 ) is one of many that were added by owners when the comp cars found the need to "pin the skin"

As an aside: I used stainless 6/32 button heads drilled and tapped into the glass instead of rivets.

Roscoe, exactly what are "button-heads"? I am familiar with Type U Drive Screws but not with the term you mention. Would you clarify or direct to a source? Thanks.

Jamo: Very funny!

I do like the wing nut idea though!

Guys thanks for the info. I'll pass it on. :p

Evan-
Which pattern of rivets do you have on your car??

REAL 1 02-07-2003 12:37 PM

I used the ERA pattern. Believe it or not. I liked it the best.

But I do like the 12-1-12 pattern.
