Having spoken directly to the owner on the phone, this was certainly part of the request. Their privacy is just as important as yours. Also, 1960's UK/US vehicle technology is pretty easy to steal... nowadays it's so easy to find someone's home address that exposing this information can make them a target for theft.

My attorney gave me same advice as well as advised not to post pics of your car showing the license plate numbers. Some unruly folks out there can use that to find out where the car is, or close anyways.
Great find! I hope things turn out where you can visit the car someday.;)

But excuse me, that car on Shelby 289 Cobra does not look really "real" to me. I would doubt someone has put that up for sale as an original? I am certainly no expert as others on this forum, but somehow it looks kind of different to what it should be.
Ned, do you know more?

Looks like a partially disassembled old 289 with some replacement gauges to me. Sure would like to know what they are trying to ground onto the central tonneau snap, however.

Why would I exchange a dash at an original car for an non-original unit? Why does the paint looks good, if the car had such a "hard life"? For me this is no "barnfind mirracle story".
Oh, see some nice "Diomante" Bizz in the Background of that shop  **)

Ned, It appears as if they used gold & white pin stripe tape instead of paint and it has lost adhesion past the tonneau snap.

A-Snake, I believe you are correct. Looked like a ground wire to me on first glance. No wonder one might ask, "Why does the paint looks good?"
