cobra daytona at historic Brooklands track

Today with my wife and kids we visited Brooklands track in Surrey, it is amazing to see the amount of banking that still exists. We went today because they had a motorsport weekend and its only an hours drive. When we arrived there, there was a makeshift track on the airstrip with many sportscars zooming round. What caught my attention was a couple of cobra replicas and Dodge vipers but what was coming next really caught my attention. A blue cobra daytona was out on the track. Later on we walked round to the paddock area and walked over to the cobra daytona. I immediately started talking to the owner who was very friendly and opened up the bonnet i asked who made the car and he replied R&D from America.
Next thing he says is would i like to sit in the car? would i. Any way my wife had just said to me that some of the cars were giving rides for charity and she payed for me to be a passenger. Wow , brilliant awesome and all those words that describe a first ride in a cobra . The acceleration was awesome, i had never experienced that sort of speed before. Great Day.http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d.../14608cob9.jpg

That looks like fun!

Any idea what the chances are that Mercedes will get the deal done to buy Brooklands?

PDHse...

..I have spent time at Brooklands both at Autokraft in the old days and at AC Cars when they were in the last building. Love the Brooklands Museum-cars and aircraft, what a neat combination. Got to sit in the Harrier and play "Arnold in True Lies"

The track must have been real impressive in the old days. Hard to imagine how massive the facility was when it was operating. Also what type of balls it took to go falt out in some of those old cars around that track.

I'd like to know what size balls you would have to get airborne at the top of the test hill!
