Race track insurance? Cranky, help
Kinda funny, huh? The insurance guy asking a question about it.
Anyhow, I have a friend who owns a Mini Cooper S for his daily driver (has a SPF Cobra for summer). He is planning on running the One Lap of America race and was inquiring about race track insurance. In my line of work, I never deal with it, so I know very little about it. I remember when I ran PDA that they said it was available, but very expensive. Does anyone know who writes the insurance and who a contact person is for it? Steve |

Steve, I know that K&K insurance, insures most of the Nascar teams the whole time they are in the pits and garage. As soon as they hit the track,coverage stops. I think if you want to race you have to assume all risks, I know most of us do.
I have heard of track coverage but it is very expensive. I also don't know who sells it. Cranky |

Cranky, I know when we hit the track we pretty much assume liability on our own. But I do remember in the drivers meeting for novices at my first PDA event at Pocono that Joe said something about racing insurance. Maybe I should try contacting him. I told my friend that it was probably very expensive. He knew it would be, but I think his wife loves that Mini and is giving him a hard time about it. :CRY: :JEKYLHYDE Steve |
