McCluskey Blue

Does anyone have a photo of a car painted in "McCluskey Blue"? How does it doffer from the blue that Shelby used?

I don't know the answer to the second question, but you can probably find a few pictures here: www.mccluskeyltd.com

It is. I've seen the first Coupe McCluskey did, the one he built on an original 289 chassis for Lynn Park. It is an absolutely stunning car in every respect but the paint in particular really sets everything off--

WOW,

How about Lynn Parks Garage? I'd be scared to show that to anyone, much less have someone post it on the internet.

Lynn Parks doesn't seem to mind. One of the issues of the great but short-lived "Cobras" magazine did a full color, two page spread of his garage. It may have even been turned into a poster. What an amazing collection. He has since sold his McCluskey Daytona, from what I hear, but he still owns at least a couple of 427s, one a VERY low mileage car with a rare factory hardtop and Sunburst wheels, the "remains" of the Bob Johnson Sebring FIA car (I say that in quotes because the car is generally reported to have been cut up and put in a dumpster after Johnson ran into an Alfa and wadded the car up; Parks' rebuild of whatever was left is the subject of some debate, but whatever the case it is a beautiful car), and a couple of other 289s including the blue/white stripe car he races frequently. A true enthusiast who is fortunate to have the ability to own several examples of our favorite little roadster...

By the way, there are a couple of nice shots of a McCluskey Coupe in Tony Ripepi's photo gallery--

BOB,
AFEW YEARS BACK LYNN NEEDED TO SELL AFEW CARS TO SETTLE A COMPANY LAW SUIT. THE DAYTONA AND I THINK A COUPLE OF COBRAS WERE SOLD TO MY FRIEND BO CHADLE. BO HAD QUITE A COLLECTION INCLUDING A RARE '57 T-BIRD CALLED THE BATTLE WAGON. KIND OF AN ANSEWER TO THE SR-2. BO DIED AT THUNDERHILL RACE TRACK OF A HEART ATTACK WHILE LEADING A RACE. HE'S IS MISSED BY ALL. HIS COLLECTION GOT SPLIT UP BY FUEDING HIERS. NEXT TIME YOU "DRIVE" CSX2196 YOU WILL SEE A STICKER READING "FOR BO". BO ALSO OWNED GEORGE FULLMERS ORGINAL TRANS AM CAR.

Last year Lynn brought 2010 to SAAC Vegas, this year is was 2259. Both times he trailered them on an open trailer that he leaves uncovered in the hotel parking lot! Both cars seen track time. You got to respect the guy. :)

Cobras? I don't see any cobras in this poster!

Terry,

Would you happen to know what the Daytona was sold to Bo for? Just curious what Lynn got for it, as it had an original CSX frame. - Bill -
