headers and sidepipes ad nauseum

Didn't get any response when this was posted on the Tech board, so I'll try this.I'm starting to check out various sources for the headers and sidepipes on my Kirkham. Does anyone have the phone number and/or email for Drew Serbs? David Kirkham also recommened Justin O'Rourke, RI. Anybody had any experience with him? E-mailed Tom's but have yet to hear from him.

Also, other than cost, is there any reason not to use ceramic? Any recs for that job? Thanx again.

Feel free to email me privately, or in the forum. thanx steve meltzer,

My pipes are not coated, I like the look when they get all heated up and "used" looking and can always ceramic coat later. I would highly reccommend coating your headers though - it is a must for the amount of heat these motors produce...Plus it is allot easier to do before they are installed - getting them out after putting them on the motor is a b!tch...

Steve:

Do NOT coat your headers and sidepipes before you have fitted them and are satisfied with their fit and function. Granted it is a pain to fit them and then remove them for coating and reinstall, but you will be glad you did.

Pipes will "settle in" after a few cycles of heating and cooling, and it is a good idea to let that happen before you do any coating. Most coaters don't care if the if the pipes have had several hours of use through them anyway...process is the same.
