Good Seats

Hello everyone

I just received my FFR Cobra from Michigan, about 4 hours ago, and found that I have much work to do, and nothing is as important right now then replacing the two pieces of junk that they call "seats".

I really need decent seats and as soon as possible. "I feel the need to drive" I have a bad back, and have already had the good fortune of having had one disc replaced, so comfort and support is a must.

I think I would prefer seats that do not rise above the cockpit, unless one of you has pictures of really good looking seats that do go above the deck. I would also like them on tracks so that they are adjustable, and in black.
If any of you would care to offer up some advice as to what I should be looking for, or if you have a decent pair for sale, I would truly be obliged.

Thanks in advance,
mikee

Mike

At DVSII a couple of FFR guys were complaining about their seats too. I find the Classic Roadster seats very comfy ( lumbar support and side support). These guys sat in my car and loved the seats. Said they were going to get some for themselves. If you can find a Classic Roadster near you, try out the seats. They are comfortable and they still look somewhat like cobra seats. They don't stick above the cockpit. Mine had a headrest on them but I have removed it since the pics in my gallery.

Hey Mike! Go here and check this out. http://www.beyondcobra.com/index.html
They are in Redding CA, call Bill Emerson at 530-275-0435 , he would be able to help you out. There kit is similar to the Classics Roadster.

Mikee,

I've never sat on Classic Roadster seats, so I don't know how they compare, but I have sat on ERA seats and I can tell you that they are the most comfortable seats I've ever tried, and they look great too. You should check them out also. Good luck.

I have the Cobra Classics. Tubular steel frame. Good side support.

Mikee,

You had a disc "replaced?" Are you one of the subjects of the FDA trials on artificial discs? I know they finally came up with a polymer that is supposed to withstand the pounding discs take in the lumbar spine, but didn't know they might now be available for all, so to speak.

Disc Surgery

The disc replacement is something new. It was not an option for me. I have had back problems from my late twenties. Pushing 60 now and healing is alot slower than I care to think about.

Surgery is something you shoud try to avoid. I would say avoid it "until you start pissing down your leg" would be a good rule of thumb.

I've sat in the seats from Mike Mack at TriStates. Comfy as far as traditional look seats go. I believe they are the same ones that SAI is delivering with the continuation cars.
