Fuel for 427 Stroker
I have been using 5 gallons of 108 octane (leaded VP - C12) and mixing that with 10 gallons of pump 91. That comes out to about 97 octane. Is it bad for my motor to run that amount of lead in each tank ?
My compression is about 11:5.1 running flat top pistons.

I am not a fuel expert or an engine wiz. but from I have read leaded fuel is somewhat corrosive. The borine additive in leaded fuel is reactive to other liquids in your engine. Run your engine often to help reduce corrosion.

Argo1,
I run Union 76 110 leaded racing gas in both of my motors and have never had a problem. The book for the big block in the 1969 Torino Cobra said use nothing less than 105 octane and I have never had a problem with it and it is now 34 years old. I don't drive it a lot as it is getting old and is registered as a historic vehicle and I can't get parts any more short of going to Jack Rousch or some racing shop. My 351 stroker in the replica has 10:1 compression and I also run that gas in it and have since I built the car in 1996. I also run it at about a half mix when I am out just crusing as the racing gas is so darned expensive, but as Snake said, be sure to run the motor often. I run mine every two weeks during the Winter until they are well warmed up.
