Naja,
Hi-jacked thread? Actually I was thinking the replies are right on target myself. Not only concerning which class but what kind of cars are in that class and what to expect. Very interesting reply from HQ. Thats the first time I've heard it broken down that way as to how the various replicas might be classified. I guess it depends on how a guy might "interpret" the rules. "A prep" was my interpretation (and the local track officials) of the 2002 rule book, which "lumped" replicas and originals together, as suggested by HQ. The new 2003 rule book is now out. I haven't got mine yet. Ernie |

I hope the aforementioned responses have helped you in seeing what SCCA AutoX is all about. For the $$$, it is a lot of fun and serves to get the adrenaline going. There were some good suggestions offered here. Sorry if we hi-jacked the initial question. |
Hey thanks guys,
I appreciate the information and really appreciate the suggestion to set up an oil press warning light! I have a 351/393 with a Canton RR pan so I should be OK. However, the light is cheep ins. |

So Keith, if you got your answers can we steal the thread now???
Pssst,,,,,Cal, so what mods you got on that NEON? Theres a ACR Neon that just blows my mind running here in Hawaii. I keep thinking of him as an "also ran", until you see him just burning up the track! I'm like, "What the heck is that guy running again?" Ernie |
Ernie:
Not much, really. Very high end adjustable Koni shocks. Run without a muffler which is permissible. 3 degrees of negative camber on the front. Shocks are super tight on front; medium on the back. KNN air filter. Mobil 1 all the way around, including the transaxle. Kumho tires--standard width to stay within E/S. The Neon ACR is no longer very competitive in E/S. The Integra, I think, run in the same class, as do the older RX 7. |
