Mr Bruces 'Lil Snake

I stoped by Mr Bruces today, always an interesting visit. He's working on a mini "Snake" and a '40. These are not your Sam's club go-karts mind you, but well thought out, scaled down versions that any one of us would love to thrash around a cart track (or parking lot). I was blown away with what he wants to do suspension wise. He's working out the finer details and well, I'll let him fill in those details if he wants. I have a bunch of pictures he gave me permission to share with you guys, but I'm not sure how to post 'em. I'll email them if someone wants to do that, otherwise you'll have to wait for Carlisle or there abouts to see them completed.

Ron,
Posting pictures on this site is a breeze. If you look next to your name on your post you will see a little black and blue camera. Click on it. It will take you to your own gallery which will be empty if you haven't posted any photos yet. In the upper right hand side it says upload photos. Click that then follow the directions. Use the Browse button and go to the file on your computer where the photos are that you want to post and click the first photo you want and it will post in your gallery.

Ole' Bruce is really something. He's got some talent there. I wish he could come out here and see a Fiberglass project that I have going. Unfortunatly I'm stuck and need a expert for some help.:3DSMILE:

get one TODAY!

Always good to see Ron.(one of my network of "spys")Don't let the small size fool you guys. These bad boys can put a hurtin' on a "real" Cobra on a tight auto cross course. Juice disc brakes, full double a-arm suspension, inboard , rocker accuated, coil-over shocks, rack-n-pinion steering, 9" wide sliks.I got 'em with 5 hp all the way to 25hp for the "big" kids. The big motor car will run 108MPH! on an1/8 mile track. I hope to have a couple/few at the Spring Fling for the kids to run at the auto cross, and a big motored one for the "realracecar" drivers to try out.Taking orders now for Fling delivery.

Hello Mr. Bruce.

I like your Cobra go-kart very much.

As you might already know, I made a scaled down version of a Cobra 427 myself.
Mine is 3 Mt long (3/4 scale).

Best regards,
Ernesto Freitas

Thank you Ernesto, you did a fine job on your car as well. Most folks don't appreciate the work invoved in a project such as this. (ps, I also have a GT40 built the same way)

Ernesto Freitas 03-10-2003 03:58 PM

Thanks. It took almost one year, near 1100 hours, to finish the car.
I’m currently making a small production. I’ve sold one to the US (Texas) and one to Germany and another one to France.

I’m making also a ¾ scale Ferrari 250 GTO and a ¾ scale Jaguar C type. The chassis is made to suite all the three bodies.

The body can easily be changed by another with out any changes to the chassis. (If anyone wants to, can easily buy two bodies and only one chassis).

The chassis is a space frame build up, with aluminium panels. The engine is 6 hp to 30 hp with electric starter. An electric version is going to be available also.

A chain connected to a differential makes the transmission. Reverse is electric powered.
Suspension is like yours, in-board dampers all around.

Hard work but is very good.

Best regards,
Ernesto Freitas
