In all of her Splendor-"she is here!" and now, part 2 of the rest of the story...

Oh my goodness!

She's here in all her splendor and beauty!

Pictures are just not capable of capturing the true splendor of Jenny's / Kirkham Cobra. It has an aura around it that just screams "Pride and splendor!"

Yesterday "InterCity" rolled up the driveway, and rolled and rolled. Man that is one huge truck! Once the rear door was dropped down you could see "her" sitting on the top rearward wrack, covered in plastic and cloth. The silhouette however was unmistakable!

My entire crew, and a few visitors who came for the "unloading" just stood in awe as she was released from her cage. No one wanted to even touch her! When I do post yesterdays pictures you will see my gravel driveway was mostly Spring time mud. Hands on the roll bar, hands on her bumpers she was guided ever so gently into the shop. Her tires where wiped down and the inspection began!

Everyone knows how proud I am of the detail and attention that we pay to our own cars, but seeing a Kirkham creation up close and very personal, I am totally humbled.

As a businessman, and a car builder in my own right, there is no doubt why these Cobras carry the price tag they do. The labor involved absolutely is, to say the least -- intensive and spectacular!

My heart and thanks go out to the Kirkham family for what you are about to help our Cobra Family do!

Now for part two of the continuing saga of the DVSF III!

Remember the song "409" and "Hey Lil' Cobra"? Remember who sang these songs and many others in the 60's? How about the "RIPCORDS"? Well the short version is the manager of the RipCords contacted Brent for some Cobra related information. Then I was contacted. Numerous phone conversations over the last few months took place, and yes, you have finally figured out why I need 6 plane tickets.

The DVSF is very, very proud to announce to our family that "THE RipCords" will be here for the DVSF III! Friday night at our private Cobra party at the Lodge they will be entertaining you with a new and updated show along with, of course, their hits of the 60's.

Saturday, they will be with us all day, cruising and just hanging around. They will be signing autographs, letting you get pictures of them with and in your Cobras! I'm sure they will be wanting a little taste of some snake juice too! Anybody up for giving them a ride?

"Sunday" they will be on a portable stage at the Madison County Airport where we will be holding our speed exhibitions :) and screaming through one of the baddest autocross's you will ever see. They will, again put on a performance for us and the paying public at the same time!

DV...It is a good thing "WE" do - Practice is over!

Dv, Man, that thing is going to look so cool in my shop! I have a stupid question, don't anybody laugh! How do the Kirkhams get the stripes in the aluminum?

Elbow grease! I've heard they polish it by hand, just like the big stripe. Is that some manual labor or what????

Ed, I'm sure glad I made it out to your place and London, makes these posts come alive!

Don

Since mine is being finished off exactly the same as Jenny's with the regular stripes and the pit stripes (save for the fact that mine is a SC model), I can tell you that a lot of elbow grease and Maguire's polish form together to create a beautiful finish for the stripes. I think David is doing his the same way. Having watched them finish off a body, and especially the stripes, I can vouch for it not being something to take on lightly.
