Kit Car Illustrated April 2001..."Cobra-esque Devin"????

Hey in one of my old Cobra magazines April 2001 Volume 18 No2, on page 20, there is a car called a "Cobra-esque Devin" It looks like a cobra crossed with a corvetter or something, has one of those one large roll bar really wide half rectangle type roll bar. Beautiful looking car what is it!!!?? Also, it doesn't turn up on any searches!!! Would greatly appreciate anyones info on what this is!!

Thanks Guys!!!

It was an early kit car. I have seen the fiberglass bodies installed on all kinds of chassis, from Triumphs to shortened Chevys.

Hey Rally Snake, thank you so much for your reply!!! Do they still make these "Cobra esque Devin's" ?? I really like this car... If you happen to know where to direct me, please let me know! Again, thank you, as my search has been dry!

Thanks again!

Jamin,
As of about a year ago, the Devin name and rights were owned by 3 investors, one of which is an M.D. who lives here in Houston. If you are interested, I will contact him and give him your name and tel.# At the time I met him, they had no plans to revive the company.

Devins are another love of mine also. A year or two ago I learned of a group of guys planning on marketing a replica of the Devin SS and calling it the Ravana. Kind of ironic isn't it? A replica of a replica!!
Anyway, their website hasn't changed one bit in all this time (no updates) and they appear to be somewhat "under-funded"; don't hold out much hope that they will ever finish the project and market a kit.
Their website is www.classicsportscars.com

They could be in for a real legal battle if the owners of Devin find out. That is a real sore subject with at least one of them.
