In Car Video Posted: FFR Spec Racer Nationals

Hey all,

I just posted a link to an in car video of one of my laps of the FFR Nationals Spec race.

This particular lap, I was following Gary K who was running up front, when he had a mechanical problem and spun at the bottom of turn 6.

This forced me off the track onto the dirt at about 80 mph. I was luck to say the LEAST...

The video is the last one on the list here named: One Lap, the FFR Spec Nationals

Excellent!

So you did a little "agricultural" work with the Cobra? Plow a few rows out and all that.....ha ha.

Wow, great video, VERY real. I actually jumped when I suddenly realized THERES A CAR ON THE TRACK,,,,,TURN, TURN NOW!!! Cool, I see you got back on the pavement nice and easy, with just a little bobble from the back end. Well done!

I think I would have to stop and clean my shorts. That came up real fast. I didn't see him spin the first time had to watch it again. Glad your ok. Jim

Jim,

I could barely here you screamin over all that gravel noise.:Dwhat was the mechanical failure?it was hard to tell, looked sorta like he over corrected a push???............and nice save!

Great recovery! I think I may have gone in search of the nearest restroom--that car spinning in front of you had to have gotten the ol' pucker factor up there--recovery was smooth as if you did it all the time

Dave:

Your autoX is pretty wide open from what little I could see. We run much tighter gates and chicanes. What is the course length?

David, beautiful piece of driving! Car sounds great--hope your evasive action didn't tear up the bodywork--

Very nice driving there, Gordon! The car ahead of you was taking a very wide line into the turn. It was a tense moment when he appeared to be sliding to the outside of the track. Good thing you didn't go for the inside!

Thank you for sharing that,
Paul

Hey Cal, that is Infineon Raceway (Sears Point), Matt

Interesting thing they say in NASCAR. When you see the wreck and the smoke closes in, AIM for where you saw the car. When you get there, he will be gone.

Maybe that only works at 180 instead of 80? lol

Thanks all!!

Cal, Twas not Autocrossing. That was the FFR Spec Series national race. There were 13 cars in the field. It was near the end of the race, and the field had thinned out.

Rally, Gordon who? ;)
