Ever heard of Paul's Automotive Engineering?????

Hey there. Newbee here. I've been lurking here for six months. Since I'm getting serious about buying a Cobra, I decided to register and join your little gang.

Now down to business. I have read many, many posts here. Including the archives. I am amazed that no one has mentioned one of the best engine builders in the Midwest. His name is Paul Faessler of Paul's Automotive Engineering (Cincinnati, Ohio). Paul builds a wide assortment of the sweetest engines you could lay your hands on. Cobras and Mustangs are among his specialties. I can vouch for his Mustangs. They are unholy terrors on the street, strip, and track. Totally awesome !!!!

While soft-spoken, Paul really knows his stuff. He is honest, respectful, and backs his work. His is one of the good guys who shares our passion. I think he bleeds Ford blue !!!

Paul's Automotive Engineering phone number is 513-791-1087.
Thanks for listening.

I have one of Pauls mtrs in my 4000 series car. 427SO with 428 crank. WOW

We are building a Hybred 289 Kirkham which will get one of his 4.6 dohc blower mtrs for this spring. Dave Kirkham has advised me to buy Depends.

Chuck,

I, for one, would like to hear more about the 4.6 blower motor. Can you relate the specs?

Thanks,
Paul

Paul,

The enginr we are using is a 2000 mo/yr. Upon Paul Faessler's recomendation, we had him replace the rods and pistons and ballance the rotating assembly. The cams and valve trane are pretty much stock. Vortex supercharger and Fast computer with electronic distributer. This engine with good fuel should make about 700 HP. We are toying with twin fuel tanks and should be able to run pump gas and with the flip of the switch be on the good stuff. Pump gas should be around 500 Hp. Engine will turn a strong 7500 RPM if you like:D

That appears to be the DOHC Cobra engine, right? Did you replace the pistons to reduce the compression ratio so that you could use more boost? Are the bore and stroke still stock?

It would take many hours to polish all that aluminum but man, it will look great!

That is the dohc motor. Correctomungo.
The stock rods are the cracked powder rods. I'm under the impression that the factory rods are made by taking powdered metal and compressing it into the rod shape, machining the rod, then literally breaking the rod at the crank journal. They are not as strong as the eagles. Pistons were replaced to handle the boost. I believe we left the compression at the factory rate.

Uh, we'll just go ahead and powder coat the car. Still working on the color.

The best
Chuck
