water pump question

Should water run from the block water inlet on top of the engine to the radiator or vice versa?Top radiator inlet on passenger side is hooked to the water inlet on the block(351c) bottom radiator inlet to water pump outlet. Thanks,I know that seems like a dumb question but I am having some problems with this. chuck

Having problem visualizing your hose (flow direction) configuration..... so I'll try to explain mine...

From the lower radiator fitting - hose to water pump INLET

(Water pump pushes water into block, up through heads, to intake manifold.)

From intake manifold (thermostat housing) hose to upper radiator fitting.

One or two small diameter outlets on water pump are for the bypass hose (small 'J' shaped hose from pump to intake manifold) and heater input (if equipped).

If your flow is backwards from the way I explained it, than you may have a 'reverse' rotation water pump installed, or you are turning your pump backwards........ either way you'are not going to properly cool your motor.
