superformance

Does anyone know the approximate price range for a Superformance Cobra? I was on the website and I saw no mention of prices.

jgrice 03-28-2003 05:44 PM

Check out the classifieds here and on cobracountry. com to get a feel for previously owned prices.

I believe the SPF roller is 38.5. Motor/trans and install is done through an engine shop of your choosing - the dealers have recommendations. Engine prices range dramticaly from crate motors to custom built blueprinted motors...so you can be at 12 for crate/trans to over 20 for custom motor/trans.

Dealers are great and very helpful - call 1800snake.

Good luck.

Jeff

Great bunch of slightly used on the market right now..

Looks like bottom number is around mid 40's.

A great deal at this time....

Hey Rooster:
I was just in Morristown two weeks ago, bought a Porsche! Now I have 4 cars, can I interest you in a Silver and Black SPF? It's in the "Cobras For Sale" area.

Rooster:

I just (3-19-03) ordered a roller from Jeff at Dynamic MotorSports in Ross, Ohio. The "basic" roller (complete minus motor and trans) is $36,900. Upgrades are available, like roadster bumpers, glove box, etc (17" chrome wheels and Viper tires are +$2400). I'd plan on 38 to 40K.

If you need further, let me know. I did a lot of research and found SPF to be a good deal for what I wanted. Jeff is a great guy to work with, and Dynamic will do the extra mile to please. Great folks!! BY the way....need an engine? Talk to Southern Automotive, they have been super to work with as well.

Mr. Rooster: If you go with a SPf roller I know of a brand new rebuilt 428 PI here in Martinsville. My friend is selling it for $6400.00 with clutch. Its brand new rebuild and hasn't yet been started but its ready to go!

If you are interest I'll get you the build sheet.

OK, From some of the guys who have owned them, Which do you feel is a better choice Superformance or ERA? From the research Ive done it seems the ERA turnkey minus is a little more expensive. But ERA is within 2 hours.(much easier to get parts and help) Some of the finished cars look awesome, but(I really had my mind set on dropping the engine in myself) This is not an easy decision, and I appreciate everyone helpin' out.

Bob are you spf1000? I like that car. Can you PM me more info maybe we can have convesation.

You can order an ERA to any point of completion that you want. So if you want to drop in the engine yourself, it will run about $45,000 +/- with most of the options. There is something to be said for having the manufacturer only 2 hours away. But you can't go wrong with either car.

BlueRooster 03-29-2003 05:54 AM

James, Im sure you here this a lot, but I really like that ERA. Awesome job. Did you say you were selling it?? Man, how do sell that thing, it seems like its part of the family.
I am going to take a trip to ERA very soon to make my final decision. So, James, is it possible to have a conversation with you regarding the ERA if you have time?

Dane,

I faced the same decision a year ago when I wanted to move up to a nicer Cobra. I decided to go with Superformance for a couple of reasons but I like the ERA car nearly as well. You don't have to go to Ohio to find a Superformance car. You are pretty close to a Superformance dealer in New Jersey as a matter of fact. He's in Forked River and his name is Stan Martino. He owns and operates Stan's Garage. I bought a roller from Stan and did the motor install myself. Stan was a great help in working with me and helping me if I got stuck on how to do something during the course of the work. He was always available when I called on the phone. I really love my car and I can highly recommend Stan. His number is 609-242-7826 or you can view his web page at http://www.angelfire.com/nj3/nightsh...age/index.html

Dane,

Thank you for the comments! I actually just took a deposit on the car last week. So if everything goes well, the sale will close in the next few days.

I will be happy to help if I can. Call anytime at 214-213-0891.
