Were any two of the originals the same? Weren't thet shaped with slapper files and english wheels? It seems to me you guys are trying to split hairs by saying that this particular make is absolutuely true to form original, while that one is ever so slightly not original. (not incluing streched, extended, rechaped, west coast, etc) If you really want pure originality, make the doors fit poorly, put a few dents here and there, make the wheelwells all different heights, and put narrow period correct wheels and tires that don't perform very well given today's standards. From most of the pictures I've seen of Shelby's race cars, you ought to smash in the radiator opening a little too.

I couldn't go so far as to say the SPF body shape is "way off". Actually it looks pretty darn close to me. But then again, I never could figure out why a $200 bottle of wine is neccessarily better than a $20 bottle of wine (and don't even go their with "watches", I am clueless). But I DO know something about Cobras. SPF is pretty impressive in my book. Ernie |

Argo: I'm not trying to knock SPF. It was more busting Hals chops.
The SPF (IMHO) is off in the front openning, rear hips. But I'm nit picking and the average person wouldn't notice I'm sure. In the end I really like SPF's and the way they look and think they are a great car. |
Totally Evan - I agree...But from some of the pics I have seen of the SAI cars, the front opening has a very different shape than the SPF...The SPF is perfectly oval, whereas some of the Shelby's are not - They seem to be shaped differently on the bottom of the opening, almost flatten out... Has anyone else noticed this ?
