4 into 4 pipes

should I use any sealant(if so what type) when slipping my sidepipes onto the headers? chuck

Yes. I have sucessfully used hi-temp silicone. Smear it on the insides of the receiving pipes, not the outside of the primaries. That way you won't see it.

Slip?
My headers terminate with a plate that matches up to the side pipes with a spacer between. Of course it's custom made, so no gasket to buy off the shelf. Previous owner tried cutting high temp gasket sheet, but they were always blowing out. I went to no gasket, and Permatex RTV High Temp Copper. Almost a year now, and no leaking. Make sure and let it dry for at least 24 hour as per instructions.
