Dual Pusher Cooling Fans Question
Does anyone know what size the original dual pusher fans were? Also, how far apart were they?
|
Can't answer your question but remember that if you have a puller fan AND pusher fans they will not work well together. One or the other. The original track cars only had pushers.

The originals used a six bladed aluminum fan, approximately 10" in diameter.
The fans were spaced 10.5" apart, (fan centerline to centerline). For cosmetic effects, you can use both. If you are building a car, my suggestion is to run a Spal 16" puller fan wired to automatically open at operating temp. You can wire up a set of twin pushers, operated by dash switch, but you will find they will be best relegated to cosmetic function. Bud:JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE |
Cobra Restorers sell the five bladed pusher fans in 8.5 inch diametrs. . . and call them original spec. . .
Here are two: Top one is Cobra Restorers (8.5 inch) and bottom one is a "New Carroll Shelby Car" (9 inch) (but not original from the 60's) Which one is more correct? By the way, I just want them for cosmetics, I love the look. I'll have a real fan behind the radiator. http://www.legendarycobra.com/ebay/dual-fans.jpg |

rsimoes:
The top unit is featuring non-original motors as well as blades Fuggeddaboudit The Shelby set up is using the proper motors (a Chrysler unit, actually) and the wrong blades. Motorsports International carries the correct six bladed fans. Buy the motors from Shelby. 619. 390 9080 Bud:JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE |
