Hey David...

Hey David...
pretty cool. Looks and sounds neat going around at Cal Expo. Is that the spec racer converted, or did you sell that one? A couple of buddies are considering building FFRs that they can drive on the street, and the track every once in a while. Got any advice on building a streetable hybrid, so i can pass it along. I'm very uninformed when it comes to FFRs, or even the MKIIs now...

email me if you get a chance to let me in on the best way to go.

Thanks!
Duane

Very nice Dave, What size backspacing and rim width are you running on the front? Are you scubbing off alot of corner speed?
just curious, it looks like there about 9" wide and 3" of backspacing.

Thanks guys..

Bob, no more supercharger :( The rules in AP dont allow it. We are building a new high winding 302 to replace the blower power plant :)

Duane, Ide be happy to answer any questions your friends might have. That is our street car. FFR 1046. She is over 7 years old. The new Mark II is a great car. They can definatley do a hybrid. Depends on where thier priorities are. Safety or looks. The Spec racer is sold... :)

Dave, those are 12 inch 3 piece Real Racing Rims. 6 inch BS. The tires are 23.5 x 11.5 x 16 hoosier slicks. Man they are fun to drive on :D

David,
GREAT VIDEO WITH AWSUM SOUND!!
I would hope to do some playing withmy car at the track. I have absolutely no knowledge on how to get started. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Nice smooth run David,

The tires are really working great and the car seems a lttle tight. Maybe a bigger rear sway bar? Did the 45.131 get you a trophy? Your video really spiced up my lunch!

Thanks,
Paul

Ain't it great!

I have a ball going the autocross in mine.

You run some very large slicks on the car. What where some other times by other types of cars? I heard some one at the end 45.131 on your video.

Thanks

Rick

Mary Borden 04-24-2003 04:46 PM

Rick, the 45.131 was David's time. I was recording the video and like to say the times so we can match the video to Geez data from the car. We are just starting to run slicks and our times are comparing well with CP, BP and EM cars. We have just one weekend of seat time with the slicks and we are still playing with the sway bars and tire pressures.

Hope to share more video's in the future :)

Mark,

You should come out and autocross... its a great way to learn what your car will do. You will need to pass a basic tech inspection and have a helmet that passes specs. If you dont have one, you can borrow one at the event.

Shoot me an email and I'll give you my contact info if you want to chat about it. david.j.borden@direcway.com
