I'm so old that I remember buying Royal Castle burgers for a dime each, filling up the tank with 2 bucks, going to an air-conditioned Drive-in movie theatre and pulling the crank on my 4 track cassette player to engage the wheel.
I'm also old enough to have seen a "Real" Cobra bought as an insurance buy back for $1,000 cause the original owner had an engine fire that only singed the hood paint and the insurance company totaled it. Today, you can roll just about any car and thay will repair it before declaring it totaled. This Cobra incident occurred as a result of a tip from Ford City, a junk yard dedicated to Fords only close to Downtown Miami. Bought me a $1200 '68 GT500 convertible with 30K miles in 1970 at same location. Only thing missing were the hubcaps. Couldn't afford to buy a '70 GT500 convertible they were selling for $1500 at the same time.
Gotta love them good old days
Bob
