Lucas Wiper To Lucas Switch Wiring
I have a lucas wiper motor from a triumph TR-6, and an old Lucas rotary switch p/n 34908 for the "original look". Can someone tell me how to wire these two togather, please??

I am not sure exactly what type of switch I have but I do have some sort of British wiper motor. I wired it the way I thought it was supposed to be done but I immediately blew the fuse. I played with it for a while and kept blowing fuses. I finally asked a friend who does a lot of automotive electrical stuff to take a look at it. The problem was the way the motor had been wired for the "park" position. I'm not sure what he did but he cut some wires, taped some others, and now my wipers work without blowing the fuse. I believe that the power is supposed to still be "on" even when the switch is turned "off" until the wipers have parked themselves. Mine no longer have this feature. Of course, I only needed them to be able to pass the safety inspection. :LOL: Get it right or else buy a lot of fuses as you go through the trial and error process. If you are lucky enough to have a friend that knows something about this stuff, get him to do it since you will save a lot of time, not to mention all the burned fuses. Wayne |
Kirkham used to use the rotarie- but as everyone knows they are really hard to come buy these days - why dont you give them a call and ask Thomas or someone else to help you out- they have a coopy of the original wiring diagram so they could easily help you out.
