Ford Racing Crate Big Blocks - What oil viscosity to use?
I just bought a Ford Racing 460 and I would like your opinion on what oil viscosity to use.
For the people who also have Ford Racing Engines, what are you running? I would like to use Mobil 1 10W30 (fully synthetic) oil. . . . Thanks! |
I have a 460 565 hp crate in my SPF.
I am using 20-50w Valvoline Racing Oil (non-synthetic). IMO 10-30w is too light. Jeff |
From what I have read, for the amount most of us guys change our oil synthetic has no real advantage. I heard that kendall 40 or 50w is one of the best mineral oils out there.(no multi- viscosity).....With the big cam motors gas in oil is more common so more freq. oil changes are done.
