I was hoping for something closer like Blackhawk, but I would Love to run at RA. Though I don't think I would make use of those long straights. Last I heard, open track was relatively inexpensive there.

Flipper:
What town are you moving to? Elkhart is the premier track. Some say it is one of the best in the world. 4.1 miles long. As you indicated, the straights are l-o-n-g.

I agree the track is THE road course, but I will be near Hazel Green close to Galena, IL and Dubuque, IA. I have always wanted to go to Crandon (not in the Cobra, but to watch) and RA.
Then again, RA would be as close as Buttonwillow or PIR.
It will be nice to be back home. I hadn't thought much about it since I just finished the car before moving out here.

I live in Green Bay and was on Road America twice last year. During most of the race events they have trck touring cost about $100. During the June sprints on Friday they have touring after about 5:00 cost about $75 . The northwoods shelby Club rents the track in fall for 3 days cost about 175 per/day, you can run as hard and fast as your car and skills will allow.
It was great fun and is worth the money. The track is too fast for me, at 135mph the corners come up real quick.

Midwestern Council Sports Car Club has driving schools and high speed autocross several times a year at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. I have competed there for the last two years. Bring your Brakes!!!!!
