as far as race-rescheduling, I don't think so... the track is only booked for Fri/Sat/Sun. |
Ron;
You probably saw me there and did not know it,I was wearing my CC shirt Friday and a white Aussie cowboy style hat,spent most of my time in the garage area...I probably saw you and did not know it either... The only way I met Poorboy was because he had on his CC shirt saturday....I met Jim Maxwell cause I recognized his cars from his photo gallery and hung around them asking for him till I found him.... A number of people asked me about a "hospitality room" at the hotel for us to meet and swap lies in,but to my knowledge there was none....Did see a lot of guys at the hotel that I saw at the track though.... Wll, next time I'll wear a name badge or something.. The guy from Louisiana in the vintage races was in the garage about four or five stalls down from Poorboy's crew in one of the many white w/blue stripes GT-350,# 51-B, we had our "stuff" in his garage stall and I hung around there most of the afternnon when it got hot outside...Too bad they did not get to race as he qualified fourth in his class.... Where does one get a CC shirt by the way?
|
ToyCollector;
Not real sure anymore,we did the shirt thing way back when the club was pretty much in it's infant stages,not sure if they are still avaliable,back then we got a bunch of us together and made one order for those who ordered shirts,now wish I had gotten more than two... You may check the old archives for something on the shirts,not real sure right now who spearheaded the shirt thing anymore.... Wish I could be of more help... David |
SAI
I thought it was interesting when the promotions guy was finishing up an said he can't tell about what is coming in the future, then flashed a picture of a 66 GT350 blue with white stripes up on the screen. Bet they could sell some of those.

His last slide was a concept sketch of a '65/'66 GT-350... and coyly said he can't talk about the next offering in this series. Understand, these cars are NOT from SAI...the program is "blessed" and endorsed. |
Shelby wouldn't have his name on it unless its a quality product IMHO.
Evan You should have left this line out, he has signed his name to damn near everything except Jamo's ass and I hear he will if given the chance. |

Evan, hopefully Shelby wouldn't endorse a "Cobra" unless it was a "quality" piece, I agree. Theres to much at stake on that issue.
However,,,,,,,I to have to laugh at how funny that statement sounds in light of the gawd knows what C.S. has signed over the years! :LOL: :LOL: :LOL: Ernie |
I don't think that Orville Reitenbacker lost too much sleep over rivalling pop corn even though it was endorsed. But Evan will argue, Shelby's was "REAL" pop corn:D as he puts margerine and salt substitutes on it to minimize calories!;)

Hey Dan!
Speaking of Popcorn, why did they take away coconut oil at the movies for popcorn. It can't be any worse than a funnel cake, and you can still buy those!
Eric I want my d%#* coconut oil popcorn at the movies again! Where is Bill Warren when ya need him?????? |
Now THIS thread got threadjacked!!! STOP the INSANITY!!! lol!!

AMAZING!
:LOL: :LOL: :LOL: :LOL:
Amazing how fast a topic can turn into the same old stuff isn't it?:rolleyes: But I must admit, it is entertaining at times;) If any of these challenges, this thread or others, ever come about.... I will watch! I have enough challenges just getting my car to where I am completely happy (tall order, will never happen):LOL: :LOL: Heh guys, there is a timed solo course and 1/8 mile strip at the Fling. Save your slips, meet after for favorite poison and let the lying begin!!! :LOL: :LOL: Back to topic: Glad to hear about Carroll and Ford. Hopefully he has enough kick left to do something really cool with the new Mustang. A new Cobra. Hmm. I little mixed on that one. But I am interested in seeing what they can pull off. ;) Rick |
Fast Cobras
A bit of banter between the different factions eh!
I have always wondered about the little guy at the back of the field dicing with a couple of other racers, smile beaming out all over his face, and the big noter with the genuine car all the trimmings and sometimes the 'I am better than you' ego, then you go out and bring him down to earth with your ol lookalike car. We have been through all that here and now if its not based on the original concept design at time of application, its not allowed to race. Having said all that what you drive on the street is totally different. A guy here built a Cobra 800kgs chrome moly space frame, mega Transam SB Ford engine, ran a nissan 300 viscos rear end, slicks all the gear, still warranted and regd, was it fast it shrieked around the track, it didnt even look like a Cobra, more like a TVR Tuscan with the roll bar as part of the windscreen, and I would emagine have very limited road use capabilities. I was in a luxury car dealership with my old FE Cobra, showing the CEO my car, and a guy with a Ferrari came in, your not going to believe this but he stated that my car wasn't an original and probably home built, I almost told him to Get............d! and probably would do nowadays. "Fun" is the name of the game, and thats why I like this forum you have the guys who make the nice replicas etc and those with ample money who can buy the top of the range replicas and originals, then there is the guys where I am at - do it yourselfers, but the great part is we are all part of the Cobra club with a mutual magic interest in the almighty Cobra. |
xlr8or.........Go Dude!
...actually....Wareham (pronounced "wear 'em" by REAL 'Capers) is most definitely On-shore and in fact, is NOT paht a Cape Cod at all---as so many of the habitants claim. You can tell if the Smith Bros. are "from away" or real Warehamites by asking them where their phoo-keen phactory is. If they say "Ware-HAM" they're immigrants (and probably illegal ones, too!)!:LOL:
Bottom-feeders who persist in mispronouncing "Wareham" can be asked to pronounce the following Massachusetts towns: -DedHAM (if mispronnounced "DeadHAM"---they're referring to a large chunk o' dead pig..., similarly: -RaynHAM: pigs or pahts therefrom descending precipitously from the sky... -ChatHAM: gossipy pigs -EastHAM: an oriental pig -StoneHAM: reefer-mad piggies -WaltHAM: Up against the "wal", PIGS! EVERY one of the above when pronounce in the Olde Newe Englande Mannere ends in a "'um"! As in: "They cahn't pronounce 'Wareham' propahly? Well, phu&$-um!!!!":LOL: :LOL: P.S. Take this down; it WILL be on to-morrow's quiz!!!!:JEKYLHYDE |
So.........
What would Ford and Carroll be working on for a new car. We've heard about some talk about the new Mustang. How about a 40th anniversary 2005 version of the GT350 with the latest Ford technology? Limited production.....I would like to see that!! :3DSMILE: Or do they push for an updated version of a New 2005/06 Open Roadster Cobra? **) - Bill - |
