Switching to Pin Drives

What all is involved with switching over a Unique 289FIA from Compromotive wheels to pin-drives?

Also, if I'm going for that classic Halibrand look, which pin-drive wheel manufacturer do you guys recommend?

Thanks,
Russ

To get the correct offset you will need shorter axles, lower arms, shocks, & trailing arms. Right now I think any pin drive wheels are in short supply.

When I went to pin drives, I ordered a set of 17" wheels from PS Engineering. They sent the bolt on adapters first, and I took measurements and told them what offsets I wanted, which they supplied. Excellent service, fantastic product and the 17" wheels REALLY brought out the handling of my car. A whole lot easier to find great 17" performance tires as opposed to 15" too!

PS Engineering... That said I am not trying to slam anyone else's wheel, but brand T only makes one formula.. 15 inchers in 7.5 and 9.5 with 3.5" of offset.

They are as close to correct as you can get but notice how the fitment is in many of the cars you see in the galleries. If brand T works for you great... It didn't for me and they are NOT returnable despite promises they would be right for my car. The reply I got was I could cut my fender more to make them fit.

On the otherhand Phil will craft a wheel for YOUR car. If you can get away from the emotional need for 15" wheels you will find Z rated tires for as little as $118 that are far superior to anything made in 15" today... It will never get any better for 15" tires in the future and it will likely get more limited as time goes on.

I paid $3200. for my brand T tires and Goodyears. I sold them on e-bay for $2200.. Expensive lesson but worth it to end up with a perfect fit.. Photo's in my gallery.

PSE will do any offset you need (within reason) in widths up to 14".
