Shelby Win Win..Who Bought the Stock??

It seems that at 80+, Shelby is still winning financial battles. The recent merger with the Ginsing Company had the stock start out at about $1.40 and today closed around the $6.25 range.
Evan......Did you buy any??

Turk 06-12-2003 10:28 PM

Steve,
I was under the impression-actually told- that it opened at $4.60 or so the first day....

Am I wrong, or are you right?

Stock

I was repeating what was published by Autoweek. I didn't follow it myself. Maybe that's what the the day before the announcement price was.
I bet you know who owned it at the buck farty!!

Dan Stryffeler 06-13-2003 08:06 AM

Kinda goofy thing is that it, (the new company), will be called "Carroll Shelby International", but that it's trading under the Ginseng Company symbol... who knows; maybe they will re-list it under a new symbol when all the paperwork is done.

Wish'em luck... there's some real nice trademarks owned there!

re: big run up

can you short sell bulletin board companies? :D

We got a letter from Schwab this week that cites newly created SEC rule 15c2-11 that states that:

After the close of regular trading on August 31,2021, new opening orders will not be permitted for securities that trade on the OTC markets that have not met SEC financial disclosure requirements. Closing orders for these securities will be accepted, subject to market maker participation and availability of quotes.

There are others sections but this one particularly called out CSBI in the letter.

This means that you can't buy Shelby stock any more. You can sell it, provided you can find someone to buy it that somehow isn't affected by the buy restrictions...

Let's face it, for those of you who held on to their Shelby stock, long term, have lost their investment. Closed on Friday at 0.0047 of a dollar, making it a sub "penny stock". I can see it being delisted at this time, as not even SAI wants to buy it back.

At this stage is is all but delisted.

I hope Gary Patterson was smart enough to not take a lot of stock options in lieu of salary.

Many of the shares went to these "buy a share" places. The ones I saw had the CS logo and a picture of CS on it done of course in the etching style. You used to be able to get lots of stocks some were pretty cool looking. In the early days when I worked at DEC the employee purchase program sent actual stock certificates. They were pretty neat. Had to go to a broker and sign and endorse them to sell. All gone now of course.

ChiChris 09-28-2021 02:51 PM

Yes, my shares have a pic of Carroll with his cars in the background?
I've never seen the shares posted in this thread.
Purchased 427 shares (to match my CSX 427) in late 2000's.
Spent $.15. a share so will loose it all.
Unless of course people start to collect the stock certificates.
It hangs on the garage wall with other posters.

cobrasnake 10-06-2021 10:27 PM

Tried to sell my 427 shares earlier this summer. Spent many hours trying to figure out what to do, bottom line no one would touch them due to miniscule value (not the Transfer Agent, SAI, Schwab). I believe I can write off my investment as a capital loss on my taxes without actually being able to sell the shares. Sadly (or thankfully) it won't be much of a write - off. Theoretically I will need to destroy the certificate, but it's the one with CS and four cars and looks good on the wall. Glad I didn't tie up my retirement in CSBI. :o

PDUB 10-07-2021 09:02 PM

Ditto...

indianamoon 10-08-2021 06:45 AM

Why not offer them for sale in the classifieds? I’m sure a few of us would buy some

ALF 10-08-2021 06:59 AM

I assume they would be sold in minutes.
I would take one.

Printed certificates might be collectible. Shares held on deposit are essentially worthless.
