Ford 100th Anniversary Celebration
Ford Motor Company is celebrating their 100th Anniversary this week in Dearborn, MI. Over 3500 classic, racing, and collectable cars are expected. Mother Nature was not nice to us yestereday for opening ceremonies, but it should be a lot better for the rest of the weekend.
You really ought to come out and see. There are Cobras, Shelbys, and FORD GT's all over the place. Even Bigfoot is there. Every kind of car or truck Ford has ever built is on display - you won't want to miss it! http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...0dscn3873r.jpg Ford 100 (Do not bring your collector car unless it has already been registered - there will be no "drive-ins" accepted.) See you there! Jeff |
Oh my!!!! What a sight!!!!!!!!!

re: Monterey Historics in August
My hope is they take this same show on the road to the Monterey CA Historics (Laguna Seca) in August for us on the west side.
And, if we are real lucky, maybe we'll get a chance to see them run a couple Ford GTs around the track solo like they did last year with the Corvette 24hr Lemans winner. Nice to see them lined up like that. |
Jeff,
I've gone to the show everyday (Thurs. & Fri.). Going Sat, Sun & Mon. It's great to see so many good looking Fords in one place. Not that many Cobras. Wish there was more. I was told by a very reliable inside source that the Red Gt is Bill Ford's "driver". I bet it was really tough to leave them put it in the show. I hope he was able to find something else to drive. Have a great time Squeaker |
Mother Nature shined on us today.
They tell me the red one was a test "mule" that had to be put into show condition in the 11th hour. Mr. Ford drove the white one in the ceremony. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/data/4/1017040s.jpg Edsel Ford had been in the tent where my cars are three times - he seems to really like the two old GT 40's (one each, small-block and big-block) and original Cobra's (again one of each, small and big). A fantastic display of Ford harware from all over the globe. Regards, Jeff |
Jeff,
Your call looked great. Great show no way one could have looked at every car in one day. I did like the Mad Max clones and all the concept vehicles. Not many Cobra's but still a fantastic show. It was a great weekend all the Ford's on Saturday and a Ford Nascar win on Sunday. Jim |
