1992...going to Military School in Roswell, NM. On my way home from weekend national guard drill in Albuqurque, and running late. 1986 'vette. headed out of Clines Corners south on 285...115mph...100mph....115 mph...cruising right along at sunset up and over the hills. in my rear view I could see 2 lights way off in the distance...they kept getting closer...and closer...and closer...and I was thinking, "man, this guy is really hauling ass..." over a hill, I hit the brakes and slowed to 60 mph...about 1-2 minutes later...2 state police cars right on my bumper....about 10 seconds later..the lights go on. I pull over...said he was 'pacing me' at speeds over 100mph. I told him I was speeding but never over 90-95mph, and I was late returning home from drill. I was even in my uniform. Pulled me out of the car and lectured me for a half-hour about 'i've pulled people out of these cars that were in 100 pieces, etc..etc..'. I apologized and tried to explain my situation...to no avail. ticket: 95 in a 55. $270.00
