I like Bo's analogy. The best dogs I ever had were mutts--that is they performed better (were more enjoyable) than pure breeds. Just an observation. :D

Bud: You are correct. There are some slight differences in adjustability in suspension. I agree its spliting hairs and the differences are so slight they are really no differences. My tank is also 18 gallons which I opted for. I just wasn't comfortable riding around with 42 gallons of fuel behind my butt.

Why are we talking pure bred dogs, horses etc???:JEKYLHYDE They really don't, at least from a "performance" standpoint translate to an analogy with cars.

Pure bred horses, espeically in racing circles usually DO historically and statisically perform better than horses of lesser stock. Breeding is all important and many times considered when formulating odds.

A pure bred JBL will probably outperform a pure bred Shelby. So what? We are talking apples and oranges again. But as great as a JBL is the more prized pedigree will be that of the Shelby. Its just what it is. Nothing to do with performance.

Therefore, if we are NOT talking pure bred = performance as it applies to cars then I agree with BO's analogy.

SSS,

It's evident that you suffer from Myophia. Lets see if we can widen your outlook a little !!

How many replicas are made by first time builders with no prior experience in the field ? Quality of doner cars are questionable at best ! How many replica cars are started, never finished, sold as a basket case and finished by another ? Or thrown together just to sell ? Cost cutting corners just for completion sake ?
Do you really believe that these "cars" are as good as a SPF, ERA, Kirkham or even a Shelby ? A production type roller built with known quality parts and "Skilled" craftsmen who are proud of their craft. One would question your sense of what is quality if you say they are the same except for the name !!

I also said,
"It all boils down to what YOUR want and needs are and how much your willing to spend for your desires."
(SSS, read that again, it's important)

Have you ever seen a pure breed racehorse packing "Grub" to the floor of the Grand Canyon ? No, its not the best beast of burden for the chore at hand.
Inversly, you will rarely see a Mule on a trackwith pure bread race horses for competition !! Unless they are pulling a chuckwagon !!:)

Finally, Who in the He!! said anything about smart people having more money ? Ya got both of your oars in the water ?
Here it is again, read it please, then THINK about it !

The old saying,
"Don't get mad at a person who is smarter than you ................ it isn't their fault."

My friend, read what IS said, not what you Think is said !!
Infrances can be dangerous sometimes !! :JEKYLHYDE

Bill.

I've had both pure breads and pound puppies, for my wants, I like the pound mutts !! Pure breeds have a tendancy to be hyper and many of the undesirable genetic traits appear from inbreeding. Most ovious are bad hips at an early age, especially in Golden Retreavers. But, boy what a great dispositation and personality !

Like Me !!

Mixed plate lunch......

Poi Dog,,,,,thats what we call a "mixed" breed over here.

Theres just no telling if thats good or bad at first. Hmmm,,,kinda like many of the replicas, "Poi Dogs".

Shelby and Excaliburs are of course "pure breeds". Wait,,,can I use Shelby and Excalibur in the same sentence? There both special you know! :D

Ernie
