She comes home tomorrow
Well, my long wait has almost come to an end. Tomorrow my brand new SPF rolls off the truck and into my garage. She'll be black/titanium...460/535hp...I don't think I'll get much sleep tonight.
The only thing that has gone wrong in the deal is the wheels. I want 17" chrome wheels on her, so we decided to go with Team III wheels and sent them to a place in Ca. to have them chromed. After 4 weeks there, and countless phones call saying they will be ready in two more days, they tell me they can't chrome them. If you ever have to get something chrome DON'T use Classic Components, the own staff hates the company. So I found a guy named Ron from Plating Specialities who is completely confident in being able to chrome these wheels, so much so he hopped in his car and drove over an hour to pick the wheels up at his competitions location...now that is cool. I'll let you know how they turn out. I'll roll on the 15's for now. My neighbors have no idea what's about to hit them!!! |

We snuck our SPF in on the neighbors, too. They wondered what was going on when I sold the Corvette. When the engine arrived, I was gone so much for a few days that one neighbor actually asked my wife if I was having an affair! :D All the neighbors were standing around in the street talking when I came rumbling up with Deanna behind me. We turned a lot of heads! Other people in the neighborhood were probably getting tired of me driving by giving the neighbors rides. Colorado gave me a three-day temporary license to get the VIN inspection. I had over 300 miles on it when the temp expired. Now I warn them if I'm leaving early in the morning. Just give them the occasional ride to keep them smiling! |
