Can Anyone Fill Me in on Everett-Morrison?

I looked at an EM recently but don't know much about them. It was for sale and I had about 5 minutes to look it over.

Fit and finish looked good. Interior was more plush than I've come to expect and probably prefer. Didn't have a tape measure with me but the car appeared to be over a 90 inch wheelbase.

Could some of the EM guys give me a review? Does/did EM make two wheelbase cars? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Don,

Yes, they did make a long wheel base version. It's not listed in any of the paperwork that I have, but I do remember seeing one somewhere. As far as the kit goes, it is very high quality and quite solid. The down side of "solid" is some extra weight, but they did offer a light weight body as an option for the racers.

E-M offered many options with their kits, and as I understand it that was part of their downfall.....My frame was originally set up for live axle leaf spring suspension, I have since changed to Jag. They build a good car, but the way it's setup will have alot to do with what it will be worth.

There was a strech wheelbase version offered, (in their literature), years ago. They also could lengthen the passenger compartment somewhat, while still on the 90" frame, by tilting back the rear bulkhead and a few other tricks.

My car has been very solid, no problems.

Don;
E-M does/did make a stretched wheelbase car (I think 96"), and I actually saw one being built in their shop Dec. 2001 when I visited them.

I spent almost 20 yrs in Tampa, and followed these guys very closely. I think they make a fine product, and as someone had mentioned, maybe too many options on drivetrains, front and rear suspensions (corvette, jag, independent), etc.

My cars set up with a jag rear, and indepent front, and drives very well. I also have one of the lightweight body shells, which reduces the weight by a few hundred lbs.

E-M "stance" is also very nice, and I would highly recommend the jag rear set-up. Don't think you'll be disappointed with the car. Hope they can get their company back together soon.

Don,
I can only add to the praises the others have already given. I ordered my car in pieces over a period of about a year and everything was allways fine. I have their 1st production Lincoln IRS and it is a dream.
The alingment shop I go to does alot of Street Rods and Cobras. They say my suspension is among the best they have seen.
Over 22,000 miles and the car hasn't missed a beat!

Harvey
