Charlie's Angels and the JBL

Hi Folks,

Just thought that I would let everyone know that the new Charlie's Angels movie coming out this Friday has some footage that everyone may like.

They totally destroy a JBL. Dave sold the production company a car over a year ago and even gave them a discount as the car would be in the movie.

Well, I got to see the out takes a short bit ago and yes by god there is the JBL. Coming at you, at speed, with angels, and then in the air, exploding and crashing into the ground. A real write off.

I guess I should of designed the chassis a bit stronger for this type of use. Particularly the fuel cell!!!!!!!!

Note: the is also a shot of a Shell Valley car painted the same and used in some scenes. (One of the producers owned this car, therefore, they could not write it off.)

I guess this proves that fame is short lived and we all will go down in flames sooner or later.

Richard, "Charlie's Angels" will be a HUGE hit this summer! I hope your company profits well from this blockbuster!

David Biele 06-25-2003 09:32 PM

Hey Richard,

why not a FFR ????????????

God knows they could of saves some money.

David

Aaaa, I gotta ask. If the Angels were in the car, did anyone think about saving the bottom seat cushions?:JEKYLHYDE

Edley Rondinone 06-25-2003 10:49 PM

Jamo: I was thinkin' the same thing, but you beat me to the squirt!!

Richard Hudgins 06-26-2003 10:10 AM

Edley,

I am not sure that an exploding JBL is the best PR for the car.

Somehow this sight does not instill confidence in the minds eye.

David,

They did not use a FFR as the actresses did not wish to have any competition when it came to" Perky Butts ". ;)

As you know, cost is of no concern when female vanity is involved.

JAMO,

I have the seats and they are under lock and key at a top secret U-Store-It facility deep in the Valley.

They are guarded by ATF confirmed hard core street winos.

This is in order to insure that they cannot be bribed with RAKI provided by the radical splinter group known as THE GASHOLES. :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

(You know that once addicted to Thunderbird, there is no going back.)

You know Richard

If I had the angels sitting on me I don't think I would need any pyrotechnics to explode.

SO SAD!

The fact that they could have crashed and blown up a Shell Valley
with a perfectly nice yet realatively ordinary chassis, yet they chose to destroy the work of art that is a JBL chassis just sits wrong with me. Oh well I guess that shows why the budgets for these movies are so HUGE.
Richard...is there anything salvageable from the chassis? I could use a revised front suspension! And please from now on have a contract that goes along with the sale of one of your cars to a movie company that prohibits the public destruction of a work of art. Its like selling a Monet to someone so they can fingerpaint over it. :D

Have a good one,
Dan

The seats are guarded by ATF?

Is that Type F or Dexron II?

Sorry, I guess I am way too much of a gearhead.

Excaliber 06-26-2003 11:19 AM

jdean,,,,,,,you da man! My thoughts exactly! LOL
