Why don't you give Paul a call and talk with him. If you need his number drop me a note and I'll get it for you. He's a great guy.
Are you looking at one of his cars?

Hey EngineerMan,
I see you are in my neck of the woods...
Did you by chance happen to buy or looking at the Black Bennette car with Red stripes that was for sale a while back at Kassabian in Dublin? i.e. has a 351C in it, TorqueThrust wheels, etc.. Just wondering if you saw it or were shopping for a Bennette. I was checking that car out for a friend a few months ago and wondered who ended up buying it?. A good friend has gone down to see Paul a few times, and he had some former chassis' and bodies and various parts still laying around. I do know a few years back he was still doing some repairs and updates to cars out there... good luck.

YIPES!!!
Wayne,
Gad Zucks, what a horror story. Very sorry to hear what happened to you. Understand your feelings completely. I couldn't have imagined something like that ever happening. My dealings/interfacing were simple in-n-out things, nothing really big, but they were always good. I don't think I will recommend anyone again.

Bennett Automotive cost the former owner of CCX 3152 almost 10k in botched repairs and ultimately a blown engine (427 side oiler) due to the missed dianosis. Long story short the car I own was worked on exclusively by Bennett Automotive when it was owned by Rich Smith.

The car developed a short at the regulator / starter selonoid at the primary power source. The ignition worked but had an intermittant short on #2 and #3 cylinder. The higher the rpm the worse it was.

Repairs included $350 compression test, new alterntor, regulator, battery $1000. Carb adjustments (3) at different times $375. Valve adjustment $250, a "new" distributor (a used C3AE was installed) $500. Ultimately the former owner out of frustration and ignorance let the problem go and fragged a 427 side oiler short block which Bennett Automotive replaced witha plain jane 428 for $2800. (short Block)

The problem was still there when I bought the car, it hadn't run right in 5 years and the owner ran out of money to fix it. The whole problem and how I fixed it in about 4 hours including diagnosis is here in the forum.

I have never been to Bennett Automotive. It is likely I won't be going there for anything I will ever need given what I know.

Benette Cobras?????

He may be a nice guy but I guess he really does not take cobras seriously. I tried to contact Paul but I guess he is out of business.

Decooney, I did not buy the cobra you were looking at. I am still looking into purchasing my first cobra kit but I am very uncertain about which one to buy.
