One Of A Kind Wheels
ANYONE EVER HEAR OF WHEEL MANUFACTURES MAKING ONLY ONE SET OF WHEELS OF A CERTAIN DESIGN? I BOUGHT MY CAR FROM THE CEO OF "WELD MOTORSPORTS" AND HE INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR HAS THE ONLY SET OF WHEELS LIKE THEM ON THE PLANET! HOW CAN I FIND OUT IF ITS TRUE? AND IF SO MAYBE I SHOULD BUY ANOTHER SET JUST TO DRIVE IT WITH SO THAT THEY DONT GET DAMAGED IN ANY WAY! MAYBE SINCE HES THE CEO I SHOULD JUST TAKE HIS WORD? I WAS REALLY JUST CURIOUS IF COMPANIES DO THIS SORT OF THING.....

With today's CNC machines, it's very possible. Custom bike wheels are increasingly "one offs." If you bought a car from the CEO of Weld Racing, you can be sure that he has access to this kind of stuff.

It happens all the time we have customs made for the guy that wont's something different. Talk to the guy and see if they still have the program for the C&C mill they were cut on. It would be cheeper to duplicate them that way. Bill E Emerson MotorSports

XCALIBER, THAT IS WHAT IM AFRAID OF! THATS WHY I MENTIONED BUYING ANOTHER SET TO DRIVE IT WITH. THAT WOULD REALLY SUCK TO LOSE THE ONLY SET AND THEN ADD INJURY TO INSULT BY HAVING TO GO BUY ANOTHER SET. WHEN I WAS STILL IN THE PLANNING STAGES I WAS GOING TO USE WHEELS FROM A 1989 PONTIAC TRANS AM. I LOVE THOSE WHEELS BUT THEYRE GM AND THE ONES I HAVE ARE FORD. ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT A "ONE OFF" SET OF WHEELS IS WORTH? I GUESS THEYRE WORTH WHAT THE HIGHEST BIDDER WILL PAY. I KNOW SOME GUYS THAT PAY OVER $2,500.00 FOR ONE WHEEL ON SOME LOWRIDERS AND THE WHEELS THEY BUY ARE OF THE SHELF AT HIGH END LOWRIDER SHOPS (IF THERE IS SUCH A PLACE) I CANT IMAGINE PAYING $10,000.00 FOR WHEELS!
