DVSF Update: $105,257 to Team Jenny and CFF

Just received word from DV that an anonymous donor sent a monster check for $5,000. This brings the total donation for Team Jenny and CFF from DVSF-III up to $105,257.

With perfect weather, unbelievable cars, the Cobra family and their generosity; the third time was certainly "charmed."

Y'All Made It Happen! On behalf of DV, Jay, and the DVSF-III team...

Do you all realize that for such a niche segment of the auto enthusiast hobby, to raise this much money in less than a year effectively, what this means?? For all of you who gave---I think this is a record of any auto group I know for per person donation (I am not in the Barry McGuiar crowd, and basing this on my view of the world). I am so proud that I bought a Cobra, gave, and got to know as many as I could. Next year at DVSF, I'll try to get know another 30% cause there are so many who care!

Thank you once again Tom for helping me out!

Remember one of our anonymous "family" members who told me not to worry if we didn't raise the $4,6??.00 to hit the $100,000.00 mark? That he would make up the difference?

Well today, Mrs. DV walked up to my desk at the shop and had the most complex look on her face when she handed me an envelope. I asked her, "what's up?" She simply handed me the letter, short, sweet and very complimentary. I said OK...??? She then handed me the check for $5,000.00.

Want to be humbeled? Ask a lot of cobra people to attend a picnic for Jenny and Cystic Fibrosis and see what happens.

DV...Thank you so much for letting me be DV.

WOW!

At least you can tell us if "he" was a Gashole or not!

TURK

TomH 07-07-2003 11:02 PM

The Traveller comes upon Sphinx, and asks:
- Would a Gashole do such a thing?
- If he did such a thing as this, would Gasholes think him more or less a Gashole?
- Would others suspect him of being a Gashole if they knew his name?
- Do acts such as these make one a defacto Gashole?

Sphinx smiles and replys:
- Anonymous is as anonymous does; anonymously. While you choose to be curious, some choose anonymity. Vive la difference!

The Traveller continued on his way; wiser perhaps, but not knowing the answer to his questions.

The long way of saying "I dunno!:JEKYLHYDE "

We'll beat it out of him, eventually.

BTW. The way I asked the question, one may think that I knew. I don't either. Whoever it is , what a nice and generous gesture. To do it anonymously to boot, is unbeleivable.
Some of us, won't change our oil without an audience. Obviously there are some who can do all this all by themselves without a lot of attention.

Turk, if violence is "The Gashole Way," how can 1,2, & 3 be correct?

It's nice to know that in this day and age that there are still people who will dig deep for a good cause. Congratulations to everyone, especially DV and crowd. It was a weekend to remember. Even Ohioians were amazed to acknowledge that we also brought them some beautiful weather.

Having said all that, my wife is still "in the dog house" for turning down a "complimentary" Gasholes hat. "I didn't know what a Gashole was, I thought it might be something bad"!! Scheeeesh !!!

Way to go, guys!

To DV, Turk, the Kirkhams, and all of the rest of you who did so much to make all of this happen, a heartfelt thanks and congratulations! Someone be sure Leno knows what this was REALLY about--who knows, he may show up next year! The great thing about all of this is that not winning the raffle prize in now way diminishes the profound satisfaction one gets from contributing to such a worthy cause, with such a great group of people.

If I could only type. The word "now" in the second to last line above should be "no." Senility no longer creeps, it advances in great strides.
