Rebirth of the Chev 454

I thought you might be interested in some of the latest developments of the Chev LS1.

These motors are becoming very popular for Cobra powerplants down here due to our strict emissions laws.

The 350 version has been around since 97 and people have been taking them out to 427 for a while. I just found this 450 cube version that nearly hits the legendary 454 number.

Dyno numbers?

Hey Mike,

what sort of dyno numbers are these motors running, any ideas on HP and Torque?

What compression is being used in these examples?

Thanks.

From reading the article they built the motor to be a torque monster street motor to go in heavy '66 Biscayne. It made 577ft/lb at 4,400RPM and 554 HP at 5,600RPM.

Comp ratio is 10.5-1

Interesting reading, this link should take you there : Hot Rod Tech article

Cheers

I wouldn't mind seeing one sitting here rather than the stock one **)
