Beward of New Scam Thru CC
Her we go go again!
I opened my mail this morning to find 3 e-mails from Ahmrd Seleh wanting to clear $30.5 Million thru my bank account. One of the emails was thru the Club Cobra email system. My share for getting involved would be 20%. I only post this for some of the newer members who may not have had the opportunity to share in the last scam of this type that was shared at great lenght here at CC. I don't know if anyone else received this offer thru the club, and only make this post as informational and cautionary. TL :MECOOL: |
This type of scam has been around for years...The names change, but the scam itself remains the same.

True, that scam concept has been making the rounds for quite a while, but I need to respond to your statement: ...One of the emails was thru the Club Cobra email system... ...if anyone else received this offer thru the club The scam request did not come from the club, nor is it a result of the club's e-mail system. Some insight into how this bulk e-mail works.. companies earn a living "harvesting" e-mail addresses from a variety of public sources. The more you use a particular e-mail address, the greater the chances that you will end up on a bulk-list that people purchase for the express purpose of bulk e-mailing. |

There are also variations, of course...I got an email from some clown who offered to pay me $10K more than I was asking for my car. Oh yeah, that'll happen. Since I listed my car, I've been getting up to six or seven of these things a week.

I just opened my work e-mail and there, the first thing, was a letter from a Peter Ikemefuna, the supposed Accountant for the Federal Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture in Nigeria. Boy, these guys never give up. Ya know, someone asked if people ever get taken by these people......well let me tell you, after being in law enforcement for 25 plus years now I can tell you, "YES THEY DO".
