alluminum vs iron flywheel

I am considering an alluminum flywheel for my superchaged 289.
The alluminum flywheel is 16 lbs lighter than my current flywheel.
How much quicker will this make my car & is it worth $400.
Thanks for you input. Jay

I really like aluminum as it spins the engine up much faster. I had it in both big blocks (514) and small blocks (supercharged) and I would not even consider iron. Well worth the extra coin, my opinon only!

I just switched from a steel flywheel to an aluminum one over the winter and really like the difference in engine response. The engine revs much quicker and freer. It is very noticeable. The only slight downside is that it is that much harder to drive 'smoothly' around town and at lower revs. If you have a lumpy cam that bucks at low revs it'll seem ten times worse with the aluminum flywheel.
