Cobra US registration
Can someone explain to me the easiest way to register a Cobra replica (i.e. new chassis, kit car with old drive train) in the USA and not run into any difficulities with the authorities. Do these replica's count as 'old timers' and thereby avoid emission exemptions, frame structural questions etc.?
I have heard a 'few stories' but how do most replica manufactures assist in the this process and is it normally possible to register a replica in all US states? The key question for me is what is the date of the title that is issued. I would be much obliged for any direction in this matter. thanks, Ed |
Ed,
Each state has it's own rules and regulations. Most also require US citizenship in order to obtain registration and licensing, or at least have a residence in the state your titling and registering the car in.....Perhaps you want to give us a few more details in order to "legally" help you out. (other members of this forum, I urge you to be very careful as to how you answer these posts, as certain state and government officials have been known to read this forum often)...........Finally, the actual date of the title is the day you do the paperwork................
