Short oil Filters

I am nearing the end of my long build. But something that I thought was behind me has surfaced as a potential problem. Do to space constraints I am using a short oil filter. Originally I had intended to use a Fram Racing HP3. But after much discussion, and reading opinions regarding Fram filters I had decided to change to a Wix Racing 51069R. I had done quite a bit of research, planning and machining, as it takes a different remote mount and the Wix filter is actually a little longer necessitating some changes to the mount itself before installation. Today I actually purchased the filter that I was going to use. When I looked at the mounting area of the filter I realized it only had (6) 1/4" holes to allow oil into the filter, compared to (8) 3/8" holes on the Fram Filter. This would appear to be a restriction in my opinion. There aren't a lot of choices in this sizing. I am using this on a 289 Ford with high volume oil pump, Aviaid pan, remote mounted filter, remote cooler with size 10 hose & fittings. My original justification for the short filter was the fact that there are several OEM applications that use a 351 Windsor that utilize a short filter. With that in mind the standard 351 oil pump gears displace the same amount of oil as the HV pump that I have. Hence a similar amount of oil is being moved. Anyone else using the short filters??? Opinions??? I cannot find anything regarding flow charts for the Fram HP3.

Thanks
Rick..................
