auburn kruse auction

I recently got the auction list for the labor day (weekend) Kruse auction in auburn indiana. There were at least three original CSX 2000/3000 going on the block. Anyone know about these?? I can recommend the auction as one of the best auto events of the year. Any comments?

I have to agree with you, the Kruse Auction is one of the best events of the year. We've been attending the auction/sale for the last 19 years and enjoy the car corral and vendors almost as much as the open lots. I did notice that Kruse has a new Anniversary Edition on the block this year and has a bidder area on ebay, who ironically now owns Kruse. If you're traveling on U.S.27 be sure to stop at the 40 Junction Restaurant just inside Portland. The food is well worth the journey!;)

The inventory list for this event shows no original cars.

They list 3 Cobras...
-CSX7015 - listed as 1964 FIA Cobra, but of course is a current car.
-As Dan says, a 40th Anniversary 427
-and an FFR.

The list is here.

Went to the auction today....great time. Had an original GT40 Mark1 only bid to ~50K and didn't make reserve. Shelby GT500's and GT350's all over the place (no GT350R). Muscle was selling. Saw the new Superformance Coupe...looks good maybe a little too comfy. Ferrari Enzo went for a million and a half.

We were at Auburn on Friday and what a muddy mess. Access to the vendors and the car corral were limited unless you wore waders but the crowds were low, the temperature was perfect and there were some deals. The facility has improved in layout and amenities while still tolerating the idiots in the rental carts that think they have Card Blanche over all pedestrians. They did provide significant spectator entertainment as they slid through the mud troughs. There were some excellent raffles available also with a new Vette with 8 miles for $100 ticket and a 71 XKE for $20 per ticket.
Unfortunately the weatherman has forecasted rain for the next few days which might be the winning ingredient for those looking for a last minute bargain on Tuesday if they're willing to dedicate some seious power washing time after the sale. The clear winners at this years auction were the vendors selling umbrellas and disposible rain parkas.;)

Yes I wish I was a straw vendor...
Seems like the Boss 302's and Mach 1"s were more plentiful than prior years... and what's with the wig vendors????

They knew I'd be there!:D
Did you happen to see the SPF with the checked flag graphics sitting in the lot across from the Dynamic display? I didn't see the Shelby Truck or anything SAI there other than a vacant spot in the new building with the poster from their new Illinois dealer, John Bearse. There appeared to be plenty of FFR's as well as an abundance of trucks this year.

It's pouring buckets right now and the weather channel shows the entire front moving towards the Ft. Wayne, Auburn area. The vendors will have difficulty leaving if this continues! What a great time to buy!!:D

slip sliding away

Saw the yellow checkered cobra.... NOS equipped, nice paint. My favorite was the 65 GT40 I'm suprised there was so little interest in the bidding...reserve too high?  There is nothing like a good pork tenderloin sandwich and cars as far as the eyes can see...:D :D
